Nothing was recreated when I plugged in the iPad - the only thing Windows did was install the lame MPT driver to allow the iPad to appear in Explorer. Matter of fact there are no inf files out here created in the last long while. Had a look in the INF folder again - even with a complete reinstall - there are no "oem29.inf" files out here. Disable it again, remove the oem INF's then try the INF install again.Īnother stab is to try installing the driver via elevated command prompt:ĮSET is the AV - have never ever had it stop any install. What is your AV solution? I don't anticipate Defender would be an issue but if it's not Defender and while I know you said you disabled it earlier, the system could have been in limbo while you were trying to work through the issue. Seems like this is really botched up now.B Odd thing is - I installed this machine in Dec of 2018 and iTunes has worked fine before on here.

This is a Windows 10 ENT v1809 installation and it is locked down pretty hard. Nor does my install of Macroplant iExplorer that is also supposed to instantly see a connected iDevice. I have done all of the suggested "fixes" on the iPad like resetting the Location data and still no joy. I also do not ever see the usual "Trust this device" setting that is supposed to pop up on the iPad or iPhone when first plugging it in. Wondering if this may have something to do with Privacy settings or some other area of Windows 10 that is locking this down? Same errors across all profiles and all attempts to install the driver. It shows a long list of greyed out devices - none of which actually do anything and all display the same message if I hit Properties: I took another look out in Device Manager and finally found the Apple USB controllers by clicking Show Hidden Devices: My theory is that there is either some low level USB driver problem (maybe a missing system driver) or something else going on with this 2015 ASUS board - but something obscure is not allowing that Apple USB driver to install. I use that install to get my iPad/iPhone updated. For a quick compare - I ran the iTunes installer on another Intel NUC PC I have here and of course - it worked perfectly the first time round.
I cannot get that USB driver to install for love or money. I messed with this install for at least another 4 hours after my last post. I took a quick look thru the actual inf and looks like all the files it needs are there. What other files could it need and where do I get them from? Then I go right into the directory and try to do a hard install by right clicking on the inf file - and I get this:

I choose Browse My Computer.and point right to the folder where every other article on the entire Internet says that the drivers should be:

I right click as instructed and choose Update Driver. So I click Help to get sent out to the Apple website where I see a series of help articles - I walk thru the one for Windows 10.Device Manager->Portable Devices->iPad. With iPadOS13 now available - I figured I would fire it up and get the new update - but as soon as I fired up iTunes and plugged in my iPad - I see a quick message about "allowing" photos and videos to be accessible by the PC - and I press Allow and then I expect to see the usual device icon appear in iTunes so I can get going on the upgrade.Įxcept this time - no device icon.

I usually only use iTunes to perform hardware/iOS upgrade for my iPhone and iPad. Using Windand the latest version of iTunes. Been battling a very odd problem in Win 10 today and thought I would lay it out for the crew in here for some ideas.
